The govt. of India had earlier fixed the last date for PAN Aadhaar linking was 31st of march 2023. But due to several reasons they extended the date to 30th June 2023 to link PAN with Aadhaar.

And if anyone failed to do so the same process, they may face several consequence’s according to the income tax act 1961.

But if any one still wants to do the linking, they can easily do it from July 1st and onwards with the penalty on single challan.

And thereafter they can link their PAN with the Aadhaar. But if any one still failed to do so then their PAN will remain Inoperative. So, they cannot claim their refunds from the department.

  1. Your PAN will remain Inoperative for the Period till linking with Aadhaar.
  2. TDS and TCS Will Deduct on Higher Rates.
  3. No Interest shall be paid for that period of inoperative PAN.

According to the section 139AA of Income Tax Act anyone who have granted a PAN no as of 1st July 2017 and eligible for Aadhaar no must link their PAN to Aadhaar.

Steps to Link PAN with Aadhaar

  1. Login to https://www.incometax.gov.in/iec/foportal/
  2. On dashboard in profile section go to link Aadhaar to PAN and click link Aadhaar
  3. Now enter the PAN no And Aadhaar No
  4. Click on continue and pay through EPay tax.
  5. Enter and confirm your PAN and mobile no to receive OTP.
  6. After OTP Verification you will be redirected to epay tax page. Click on proceed on the income tax tile/tab
  7. Select ay as 2024-25 and type of payment as other receipts and click continue.
  8. Applicable amount will be prefilled and after the payment of the fee you can link you PAN with Aadhaar on E-Filling portal.

So, with the help of above steps anyone can link their PAN with Aadhaar.

Is it necessary to link Pan with Aadhaar?

The answer is yes. Every person who has been allotted a PAN as on 1st July 2017 it is mandatory to link their PAN with Aadhaar.

  1. Logon to E-filling portal https://www.incometax.gov.in/iec/foportal/
  2. Click on verify your PAN details (hyperlink from quick link section)
  3. Enter the PAN, full name (as on PAN), DOB (date of birth as on PAN) and status as applicable.
  4. Enter the captcha as in image and click on submit to verify the PAN details.
