Peyush Bansal, 38 years old, was born on April 26, 1985, in New Delhi. His father is a chartered accountant by profession, and his mother, Kiran Bansal, is a homemaker. The main business of his family is mainly copper wire, which is a joint family business run by his family.

Peyush Bansal’s education –

He studied at Don Bosco High School in Delhi. He wanted to do his graduation from IIT but he was not selected. After that, he went to Canada where he received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from McGill University. Then he returned to India and obtained an MBA degree from IIM Bangalore.

Peyush Bansal’s work areas –

After completing his studies at IIM, in 2007, he got an opportunity to work as a Program Manager at Microsoft in the US. After working there for a while, he realized that he wanted to do something big in his life and make a change in society. To fulfill his dream, he returned to India and started working on new ideas. He started a classified website called “SearchMyCampus” to help students find accommodation, part-time jobs, restaurants, transportation, etc. around their colleges.

His startup was successful, and he launched several other startups, but he did not achieve success in all of them. After that, in 2010, he founded Lenskart with his two friends Amit Chaudhary and Sumit Kapahi, and never looked back.

In 2010, when they founded Lenskart, their goal was to provide every needy person in the country with good quality eyeglasses available online.

They identified a significant gap in the market with many people in India not using glasses due to a lack of awareness. They focused on filling this gap and eventually expanded their business to include sunglasses and a franchising model, with over 80 retail stores across the country today.

Their goal is to make power glasses available to every needy person in India at reasonable prices. They also provide free eye check-ups to their customers. They are working hard to extend their services to remote areas.
